Mid-year: a slow site does not convert even in the quiet season
July in Costa Rica feels calmer in paid media. That makes it the right month for hosting: migrate, bump PHP or Node, review backups, turn on CDN, measure LCP on mobile. A conversion site is not “optimized” with a cache plugin on ad day. It is tuned when there is room to break and restore.
AEO and SEO still depend on the page loading. A model does not cite a timeout. A spa customer does not wait 8 seconds on 4G. The certificate that dies in August holidays is a classic you avoid with a calendar, not with heroics.
Fortnight tasks
- Restore a backup to staging and time it.
- Search Console: slow pages, not only keywords.
- Checkout, if you have it, on the same plan as the blog — ecommerce and hosting do not split on peak day.
The quiet season is when you repair the plane. Not when you design the patch.
Quote hosting in July. In October the same work costs more and hurts more.
