Two weeks left for Costa Rica e-invoice 4.4
On 1 September 2025, 4.3 stops coexisting. Hacienda extended once; there is no signal of a second move. Mid-August work is no longer “getting informed”: it is issuing in the test environment, fixing CABYS, building the electronic payment receipt if you sell on credit, and stopping the treatment of email as a dead archive.
SMEs that live on an accountant, ATV, and a spreadsheet will feel the cutoff in cash, not in a webinar. A rejected voucher is not a technical footnote. It is a sale without tax backing.
A short list for these two weeks
- Issue a 4.4 test invoice and read Hacienda’s response, not the PDF.
- Confirm payment means: SINPE Móvil and digital platforms already belong in the schema.
- Put someone in charge of the supplier XML mailbox. Journal does that part if the bottleneck is email.
- If the billing vendor does not answer, integrating or building is not a luxury. It is plan B with a date.
Purchases and sales are the same close
Issuing cleanly and not filing what suppliers send you is closing blind. 4.4 will later feed pre-filled returns. The junk you leave in August is the 2026 audit.
Two weeks will not fit an endless RFP. They will fit XML that passes.
